Flash News: Unique Group Acquires Subsea Innovation To Strengthen Engineering And Consulting Expertise. Read More Here.

In less than five months, the Unique Group team in Aberdeen accomplished an incredible feat: they covered 4,925 miles, or the same distance between our Aberdeen office and our head office in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates through cycling, walking and running. This amazing team effort, motivated by perseverance and solidarity, has raised £903 for CLAN Cancer Assistance, a nonprofit that offers practical and emotional assistance to individuals impacted by cancer in Moray, Orkney, Shetland, and Northeastern Scotland.

The money received via the JustGiving website will go directly toward supporting CLAN’s services, which help families and individuals deal with the difficulties associated with cancer diagnosis and treatment. This charitable effort embodies the essence of teamwork, perseverance, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.

The Journey: How the Miles Were Achieved

Several significant tasks were completed to accrue the miles, demonstrating the team’s zeal and commitment:

  1. Run 5K at Garioch and B2B Cycle: Team members participated in the Garioch 5K race, which covered 103.3 miles. The excitement of the race was increased by friends and family cheering on the runners as they reached the finish line.
  2. Walk/Run/Cycle to Sharjah: Using a Sport Aberdeen-donated spinning bike, the crew set out on an ambitious objective to walk, run, and cycle the distance to Sharjah. They also planned to cover the distance during daily fitness regimens. In just five months, this team effort increased the overall distance traveled by an astounding 4,727.19 miles.
  3. Climb a Munro – Lochnagar: Team members undertook the challenge of climbing Lochnagar, one of Scotland’s famous Munros, contributing an impressive 108 miles towards the goal.

A Continuing Effort: The Banchory Beast Race

The challenge doesn’t stop there. The Aberdeen team also took on the insane 10-kilometer obstacle course known as the Beast Race in Banchory on September 21st, which took place through Scotland’s wild landscape. To benefit CLAN Cancer Support, the team will take on thirty incredible challenges, such as cold plunges into Knockburn Loch, deep bogs, thick mud, and high climbs.
