Unique System FZE is co-exhibiting with a few of its partners like MDL, EMCE, Scana and Cygnus Instruments to showcase their impressive line-up of products and services that we represent in the region. One of these products is MDL’s Fanbeam 5 which is primarily used as a DP reference sensor measuring the position of an offshore support vessel relative to any offshore structure. The other products that will be on display are the multiple echo ultrasonic thickness gauges from Cygnus Instruments and the anchoring winch from EMCE that is used for small workboats. Scana Propulsion is showcasing their new concepts like the Contra Rotating Propulsion and the Spindrift Solution during the exhibition.
Scana Propulsion AS has recently delivered a special-designed propulsion-system for a supply-ship in Norway. The vessel is designed by Salt Ship Design and the propeller system is developed in partnership between Salt Ship Design and Scana Propulsion. The system, Contra Rotating Propulsion (CRP), is a shaft-in-shaft propulsion system with two monoblock fixed pitch propellers driven by permanent magnet motors. The propellers rotate independently of each other in the same shaft line. The philosophy of this concept is reliability and fuel efficiency. Each propeller is independently driven, which complies with IMO DP2. The propulsion concept is now being introduced for vessel types like PSV’s and seismic vessels. This system will be showcased at the Seatrade Middle East WorkBoat Show 2013.
On this occasion, Ian Huggins, General Manager @ Unique System FZE commented, “We are proud to be participating @ Middle East Workboats 2013. This event is undoubtedly one of the most promising maritime events in the region. During the course of this event, we look forward to meet our existing clients as well as attract potential clients and secure new business opportunities within the region.”
